Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) held Annual Awards Ceremony

Riyadh Saudi Arabia’s largest and most prestigious Riyadh Cricket Association (RCA) held an annual awards ceremony in which prizes for four RCA tournaments of the Season 2021-22 were distributed.  These four tournaments were RCA Winter Challenger Tournament, RCA T20 Tournament, Al Hokair Cricket Championship, and RCA Chairman Shaheed Mohammed Anwar Memorial Tournament.

The event was well attended by the spectators and the players.  The ceremony was hosted by RCA Senior Vice President Mr. Nasir Abbasi.  At the start of the tournament Dua e Maghfirat was performed for RCA Chairman Mohammed Anwar Shaheed, Kashmir Gladiators Player Mustakeem Pandit, and Kashmir XI player Azhar Banday who all have recently died.

Mr. Nadeem Babar former Saudi national team captain and Riyadh Cricket Association (CEO) was the chief guest on this occasion. In his address, Mr. Nadeem Babar encouraged the players and congratulated them on their performances. He also emphasized the point that Riyadh Cricket Association has always strived to work with the Saudi Cricket Federation to promote Cricket in the Kingdom and highlighted the performances of the hardworking players.

Senior Vice President of Riyadh Cricket Association Nasir Abbasi in his speech said that Riyadh Cricket Association will continue to promote cricket in a positive way by organizing such tournaments so that young players have ample opportunities to hone their skills. Atif Amin, Azeemoddin, Sher Afghan Jadoon, Abdul Hai, Aftab Nizami, Yasir Maqbool, Obaidullah, Hazem Hamza, Shiraz Ahmad, Rana Omar, Saifullah Abdullah were also present on this occasion. Patron-in-Chief of Riyadh Cricket Association, Royal Highness His Excellency Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud appreciated the efforts of Riyadh Cricket Association’s CEO Nadeem Babar and members of the Executive Committee in organizing such memorable tournaments.

At the end of the ceremony, players who had shown outstanding performances in the tournaments were awarded shields, trophies, and other prizes.
